Robin DuPont, the man accused of attempting to murder a woman in Alderney, has been remanded in custody in Guernsey.
He appeared in court in Guernsey this morning, where restrictions were put in place meaning the preliminary facts of what is alleged to have happened can't be reported at this stage.
So far, Guernsey Police have told the public Mr Du Pont, 56, was arrested on Wednesday morning, and charged with attempting to murder a 55-year-old woman. He was brought to Guernsey for questioning by police officers yesterday.
He then appeared before the island's Ordinary Court this morning.
Sitting as Lieutenant-Bailiff, Judge Graeme McKerrell said the case would be transferred to Guernsey's Magistrate's Court for committal to the island's Royal Court. He then adjourned the hearing until 16 March, when it will resume in Guernsey's Magistrate's Court.
Until then, Mr Du Pont will be held on remand at Guernsey's Les Nicolle Prison.
