All three of Guernsey’s private schools have announced 100% pass rates in this years A-level results.
The Ladies’ College pupils achieved nearly 50% of those grades at either A*/A, and five girls achieved all A* grades.
Blanchelande’s first A-Level cohort since 2012, totaling 14 students, saw 68% of A-Level results at A*-B, and 84% A*-C.
13% of Elizabeth College students achieved grades of A*, 39% at A*/A, and 86% at A*/C. One student was awarded four A* grades, six students achieved four A*/A grades and 23% received three or more grades at A*/A.
Elizabeth College says these results are consistent with pre-pandemic results.
This year, the exam boards have declared they will correct any grade inflation that has occurred over the last two years, where grades were awarded based on teacher assessment rather than traditional examinations.

Principal at The Ladies’ College, Daniele Harford-Fox, said she was “immensely proud of the students and staff and delighted by this year’s results”.
“This cohort did not have the opportunity to take their GCSE examinations; they did not get that experience of sitting in an exam hall and building those skills. Instead, they were stuck at home or working through immense disruption and illness.”
Robert O’Brien, Principal of Blanchelande, also hailed the impressive results.
“Students, teachers, and parents will be delighted this morning. As our first A-Level results since reopening our Sixth Form, these students and their teachers have put Blanchelande on the map as an excellent new A-Level centre for Guernsey,” he said.
Jenny Palmer, Principal of Elizabeth College, noted the hard work of students despite the disruption caused to their studies by the pandemic.
“As ever, it is not just the top grades we celebrate: Elizabeth College has a student body with a broad ability range and it is equally pleasing to recognise the progress made, and great results achieved, by students across the spectrum,” she said.
“Our focus is always supporting our students to move on to the next phase of their lives, be that university, employment or further training.”
