Leaving a Legacy will be the topic of the first Women's Development Forum event in Jersey for 2017 to be held later this month, sponsored by Collas Crill.
Taking place on Tuesday 31 January at the Royal Yacht Hotel, guest speakers Julie Harrigan, associate at Collas Crill, and Dr Lesley Dickie, CEO of Durrell, will be addressing the topic of legacy – the one we are currently creating and what we might want to change going forward.
Julie, who specialises in all aspects of succession law, will be offering advice on leaving your own personal legacy and what that involves. She will be discussing her own legacy, including a successful campaign undertaken by Julie last year which has resulted in a review being carried out into Jersey's succession law.
From a global legacy perspective, Lesley will be speaking about her own career choices as well as sharing her insight into the legacy that continues to be created by Durrell both here in Jersey and across the world.
Michelle Johansen, founder and CEO of the WDF, said: "Whether it's through your career, your personal life or philanthropic work, we are all creating a legacy. It's important that, as we go through life, we step back and ask ourselves whether we are happy that this is what we will be remembered for.
"I am very excited to welcome Julie and Lesley. With Julie tackling the more personal aspects of leaving a legacy and Lesley addressing the wider, global implications, this is an important subject to tackle and I hope will provide some thought provoking content for our members."
The event will take place from 12pm-2pm in the Celestial Hall. Light refreshments will be served. If you would like to book your place, follow this link: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/wdf-jersey-leaving-a-legacy-registration-30104215519
