Following the release of this year’s A-Level results, the Jersey Society of Chartered and Certified Accountants (JSCCA) has announced that there are two recipients of its Bursary scheme for 2013.

Following the release of this year’s A-Level results, the Jersey Society of Chartered and Certified Accountants (JSCCA) has announced that there are two recipients of its Bursary scheme for 2013.

Former Hautlieu pupil Connie Le Brocq has been awarded a Bursary of £5,000 per annum for the duration of her degree. She is due to commence a three year degree in Business Management at Newcastle University in late September.

In addition, JCG student Amber Harding has also been awarded a bursary of £1,000 per annum to assist her in pursuing her Accounting and Finance degree, which she begins at Exeter University this autumn.

Launched in 2010, the Bursary is designed to financially assist Jersey students in attending an overseas university and pursue a degree in a business-related subject.  In addition to Connie and Amber, the JSCCA currently has two bursary students studying in the UK.

This year, the Bursary continued to attract a strong number of applicants. Following an initial screening process, which involved reviewing applicants’ predicted A-Level grades and ability to fund their own tuition and maintenance, a number of applicants were called for interview, with Connie and Amber ultimately being selected as the successful students.
