Islanders will be able to register for Jersey’s second colour run from 24th March.
The Dandara Colour Run in aid of Family Nursing & Home Care is set to take place along St Aubin’s Bay on Saturday 17th June. Potentially, a total of 1,200 spaces could be available for this year’s event, which will see participants being showered with coloured paint as they make their way along a five-kilometre stretch of the beach.
The paint, which is made of biodegradable corn starch and comes in five colours, will be thrown from colour stations along the route.
FNHC’s Fundraising Manager, Ivo Le Maistre Smith, is urging Islanders who would like to take part in the run to register quickly to avoid disappointment. Last year’s event, which raised over £25,000 and is helping to fund the provision of a new paediatric care worker, was a sell out.
‘This is the second year of the Dandara Colour Run and the first event was so popular we had a lot of disappointed people contacting us right up to the day of the fun run looking for cancellation spaces. We have applied for permission to increase the capacity from 800 to 1200 people. To avoid disappointment, register early!
‘I’d like to take this opportunity to thank our headline sponsor, Dandara, and our colour sponsors BNP Paribas, Enhance Group, Hawksford and UBS as without their help the run wouldn’t be possible. It’s going to be a fantastic community event and one that is unique in Jersey. The focus is entirely on people having fun and raising money to help FNHC provide community nursing in Jersey.’ said Mr Le Maistre Smith.
Tickets for the Dandara Colour Run cost £20 and will be available to book on the charity’s website from 24th March.
All proceeds from the run will go towards the funding of FNHC’s frontline services. FNHC touches the lives of more Islanders than any other charity, helping children, their families, the sick, the elderly and the dying.
