Love was in the air this St Valentine’s Day as Islanders bought hot chocolate and flapjacks in King Street, raising £1,150.60 for Les Amis. The money will go towards helping Les Amis residents live as full a life as possible.
The sale was a tremendous success not only for raising money but also raising awareness of the charity. Les Amis staff and residents would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported them, including Jersey Dairy, who donated some of their delicious chocolate milk.
Trust, corporate and fund services specialist ZEDRA Jersey supported the event and came together to make flapjacks in their offices which were donated to the sale.
Over 400 flapjacks sold out in under an hour. Throughout the day ZEDRA staff joined Les Amis staff and residents on the stall to help raise awareness of Les Amis and its essential work.
Lauren Carré, PR/Marketing and Fundraising Manager at Les Amis, said: “We are incredibly grateful to ZEDRA for getting so involved. It is difficult finding people to help us fundraise, especially on a rather grey February day, so it is wonderful to have ZEDRA’s support.”
“I’d also like to thank AFM, who also support Les Amis, and everyone who helped at the Valentine’s sale. But, most importantly, I’d also like to thank everyone who stopped and donated money. Without these kind donations, Les Amis would cease to exist.”
Ashley Cox, Managing Director, ZEDRA Jersey, said: “ZEDRA is really proud to work with various charities across each of its 11 jurisdictions as well as key community organisations at a local level. That is why it is so important for us at ZEDRA in Jersey to support Les Amis and the hard work they do to help make a difference to people’s lives. I want to thank everyone who came together and donated their time and money on Valentine’s Day for such a worthy cause.”
