Islanders have another opportunity to attend a free valuation event being held by Dreweatts & Bloomsbury Auctions, on the same day that an item unearthed in the last Jersey valuation day goes under the hammer.
The sale of Fine Jewellery, watches and luxury accessories being held at Donnington Priory on Thursday March 26th, includes a beautiful rare watch discovered in Jersey in January.
Patricia Law, Senior specialist for Jewellery at D&B Auctions will be coming to the island on Thursday 26 March
"The watch is one that is sure to be appreciated by students of Horology. It’s a John Sived fine enamel painted gilt pair case watch from around 1775," she said. "We are estimating that it will sell for between £2,000 and £3,000. At our previous event we were presented with some very sought after wines, so I’m confident that there are plenty more treasures lurking in cupboards and cellars in Jersey."
The valuation event is free and there is no obligation to place any items brought along, into a sale. Patricia is a jewellery expert, but valuations for fine art, antiques and wine can also be obtained on request.
D&B Auctions is owned by the Jersey based Stanley Gibbons Group and was first established in 1759. They cover all aspects of the fine art and antiques market.
