Durrell is to benefit from JT’s help through a new arrangement to support the hundreds of international conservationists, interns and tourists who stay at the world-leading conservation centre every year.

Under a new arrangement, JT has provided Durrell with a FREE supply of JT pay-as-you-go SIM cards, with the added benefit of the JT International bolt-on loaded onto each SIM, worth £5.  These SIM cards will then be sold by the Trust, with the money generated donated directly to Durrell.  In addition, JT has also provided the charity with ten free mobile phone devices, which Durrell can then use to rent to their international guests during their stays.

JT’s Chief Relationship Officer, Tim Ringsdore said that the deal would help Durrell’s many international visitors to stay connected.

He continued: ‘The work that Durrell do around the world is inspirational to so many of us, and we are keen to support them wherever we can.

‘Their reputation spreads far and wide around the world and draws many people to the Island each year – we hope that this arrangement will help those visitors stay in touch whilst on the Island, and also help them to stay in control of their mobile costs.

Christine Holmes, Head of Fundraising from Durrell, said that JT’s support would make a difference to the organisation said: ‘We rely on the generosity of others to be able to carry out the work that we do, and we are very grateful to JT for their support.’

To further support Durrell in their fundraising efforts, JT are also one of the sponsors at the charity’s forthcoming ‘A Night in Vegas’ fundraising event, which takes place at the Chart Room, Castle Quay tomorrow night (Friday 4th October).

Discussing the casino themed evening JT’s Tim Ringsdore said, ‘We’re also very pleased to be co-sponsoring Durrell’s “A Night in Vegas” event and we hope that people will get behind the project which will raise funds towards an x-ray machine which is desperately needed by the veterinary team.’
