Credit Suisse in Jersey has expanded its team with the appointment of two senior relationship managers. David Baker and Ian Blackman will help to further develop the Swiss bank’s Investment Management business in the island.

Mr Baker joins Credit Suisse from UBS AG in Jersey, where he gained 20 years of experience meeting the wealth management needs of private clients and their advisors. Prior to this he worked in global custody, securities trading and investment management areas over a 10-year period following completion of his education at Victoria College. Married with three children, Mr Baker is a Scout Association leader and involved with youth development charity Raleigh International Jersey.

Jersey-born and educated at the former Moorestown College, Mr Blackman has 34 years’ experience in relationship management and treasury roles in the island’s financial industry. Having spent a substantial part of his career with Chase Manhattan Private Bank, he moved to UBS AG in 2000 where he continued to build relationships with high net worth clients as a senior relationship manager for Jersey and UK resident clients. He is also married with three children, is a motoring enthusiast, enjoys swimming, plays golf and is a keen horologist.

Mr Baker and Mr Blackman will both be focusing on further developing Credit Suisse’s Jersey and UK resident non-domicile client base and will be present at the next investment seminar at the end of October, 2013.

‘The quality of our discretionary and advisory investment services attracted David and Ian to join our growing team in Jersey,’ said Roy McGregor, Chief Executive Officer, Credit Suisse in the Channel Islands. ‘While we are a truly global bank with expertise across more than 50 locations, our clients equally value the partnership they can build with a relationship manager who understands their local needs.’
