The Jersey branch of the Chartered Institute of Marketing is delighted to announce Abandoman as the headline act for the CIM Awards 2013, which is taking place on Friday 15 November, at the Great Hall, Hotel de France.
Together frontman Rob Broderick and multi-instrumentalist James Hancox are Abandoman. Inventing their own genre of improvised Irish hip-hop, their incredible comic performances have been described as 'Flight of the Conchords meets 8 Mile - nothing short of genius.'
Abandoman are a double act and have appeared on several TV shows such as Graham Norton and 8 out of 10 cats. They have supported Ed Sheeran on tour and have become a huge hit on the comedy club and festival scene. They've appeared at Bestival, Latitude and Glastonbury, won the prestigious Hackney Empire New Act of the Year competition and been named best comedy and best newcomer at the Adelaide Fringe Festival. They've also enjoyed a week's residency on BBC 6 Music with percussionist Camilo Tirado.
Whether it's films, jobs, what's in guests' pockets, something in the news or just favourite sweets, Abandoman engage with the audience by taking any combination of themes and weave what one Times critic referred to as 'comedy platinum.'
