COMMERCIAL surveyor Michelle Brehaut has joined Montagu Evans Channel Islands Ltd to focus on the company’s growing commercial property portfolio.

Mrs Brehaut, worked at Long Port for six years until 2010, when she took a career break to raise her two young children.

‘I felt the time was right to return to my career in property which I thoroughly enjoyed, studied and worked incredibly hard for. This new position at Montagu Evans matched the area of property which most interests me and which my qualifications are best suited to,’ she said.

‘This is a great opportunity to continue my career and I am looking forward to getting up to speed with the local commercial property sector after my career break as my ambition is to build a reputation as someone who is passionate and dedicated.

‘Montagu Evans was the perfect choice for me as they understand that I have young children and they have been able to offer me hours that fit in with raising them and providing a healthy and happy work / life balance. I think it’s important, and it’s greatly appreciated, that professional companies offer such opportunities for professional women to continue their careers.’

Mrs Brehaut, who holds a post-graduate diploma in surveying and is a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, has previously worked on a range of developments, including the Royal Hotel redevelopment and large UK projects. In the new role, Mrs Brehaut will focus on the management of the firm’s commercial property portfolio, liaising with landlords and tenants.

‘I am looking forward to being part of a professional team and working in an environment where I can focus my mind in a role that will give me great job satisfaction. Montagu Evans has a reputation as a highly skilled and professional practice, employing knowledgeable commercial property experts on the island. I am looking forward to working with the busy team on their diverse property portfolio, being part of the company as it grows and advancing my career,’ she said.

Montagu Evans Channel Islands managing director, Tony Robotham, said Mrs Brehaut would be an asset to the company.

‘Michelle has a proven track record of being a highly-motivated, well-organised chartered surveyor who is able to use her own initiative and meet goals. She will be a welcome addition to the growing Montagu Evans team,’ he said.
