Co-Operative Travelmaker has gained national recognition for its commitment to customer service, after being awarded WorldHost Recognised Business status.

The status is given to businesses that have trained 50% or more of their front line staff using a WorldHost programme and have signed a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

Carl Winn, The Channel Islands Cooperative Society’s Operations Manager (Non-Food), said the recognition was well deserved.

"Travelmaker is committed to offering the best customer service when it comes to booking travel arrangements and sees it as an important differentiator from our competitors. Our colleagues are consistently being praised for the service they offer and we wanted to recognise the service they provide with an official accreditation," he said.

"We are passionate about service standards and are incredibly proud to achieve the WorldHost status. When our customers see the Worldhost logo displayed in our business, they’ll know we have made a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

"WorldHost became widely recognised after the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and so we decided to work with them to put our colleagues through their programme."

Travelmaker’s customer service was highlighted earlier this year when it scooped two national tour operators’ awards; the company, which has Guernsey and Jersey branches that have been arranging travel for Channel Islanders for many years, has been shortlisted for the Travel Trade Gazette UK Travel Agency of the Year for the second year running.
