Utmost agrees sponsorship deal with Guernsey Velo Club

Wednesday 12 June 2024

Utmost International Guernsey has announced a new three year sponsorship deal with Guernsey Velo Club - aimed at benefitting the club's Flyer and Academy members in particular, as well as the wider cycling community in Guernsey.

Guernsey Velo Club is a non-profit organisation that was formed in 1968 to organise competitive cycling events on the island.

Over the years the club has grown and now runs events throughout the year, with cross country and gravity mountain biking all year round, cyclocross in the winter months, and road racing and time trials in the summer. It also holds regular training rides for junior members and runs coaching sessions for all ages at various times during the year.

The club's president, Alex Margison, said: "We are very excited and proud to announce this sponsorship deal with Utmost International Guernsey. They are a great fit for our organisation, as they share our values of excellence, innovation, and community.

"We are grateful for their generous support, which will enable us to continue to offer high-quality events and activities for our members and the public, as well as to promote cycling as a healthy, fun and sustainable mode of transport and recreation. We look forward to working with them over the next three years and beyond."

Leon Steyn, CEO of Utmost International Guernsey, said: "Like the Guernsey Velo Club, Utmost has a long and proud history on the island, and we are delighted to partner with a well-established and respected organisation that has been at the forefront of cycling in Guernsey for over 50 years. We admire their dedication to developing the sport and nurturing the next generation of cyclists, as well as their commitment to making cycling accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

"As a leading employer and insurance provider, we understand the importance of supporting our local community and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation. We believe that this sponsorship will create a positive impact for both parties and for the island as a whole."
