A team from the Ladies College more than doubled their money in an investment challenge run by the Guernsey Investment and Funds Association.

23 teams were given a fictional £1million each late last year and were allowed to make one trade each month. Team Lotus from LC delivered an increase of 112.2%.

More than 100 students took part in the investment challenge, generating experitise and interest in investment strategy amoung young people. 

“The purpose of the GIFA Investment Challenge was to raise awareness and interest in investment and finance with Guernsey’s next generation,” said one of the organisers, Henry Freeman. 

We’revery pleased that so many students took part and have really excelled in the challenge. The quality of all the teams’ stock picks and rationales has been fantastic.” 

A team from the College of Further of Education came second in the competiion, with a total return of 55.57%, and a second team – Bolts Minions – from LC came third with a return of 46.55%.
