Report to set out impact of 2021 events on local economy

Tuesday 15 February 2022

A report has been commissioned which will detail the impact of the events of last year on the Channel Islands’ economies.

EY has commissioned EY ITEM Club to produce the report in line with their UK Winter Forecast. The findings of the report will be discussed during a webcast on 4 March.

EY Channel Islands Managing Partner Andrew Dann is eager to know the findings of the report.

“Early indications from the forecast show the UK staged a strong recovery last year due to the relaxation of covid-19 restrictions over much of the year,” said Mr Dann.

“The report sets out how Guernsey and Jersey differed in their economic performance from both the UK and each other.

"It also explores how our economies have fared positively over the past year and the key issues and challenges, some shared with the UK, to consider as both islands look to continue their recoveries in the year ahead.”

The full report will be released after the webcast session.
