The Channel Islands Co-operative Society has elected the Guernsey Director as its new President.

Paula Williams was chosen at a board meeting on 1 September.

"I am delighted to have been elected as the President of the Channel Islands Co-operative Society's Board of Directors," she said. "I'm looking forward to working with our fantastic colleagues to drive the society's vision of making a real difference in the communities we serve, looking after our members and continuing as the island's leading responsible retailer.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ben Shenton - our previous President of five years and Board Member of 14 years - for all of his hard work and dedication in the role."

At that same meeting, the board appointed the current Chief Operating Officer, Mark Cox, to the position of Acting Chief Executive Officer while Colin Macleod has time away from the business.
