Employment law specialist Natasha Newell has joined Carey Olsen's employment practice in Guernsey.

Ms Newell, who has significant advocacy experience before the English and Guernsey courts, has regularly been involved in substantial litigation arising from employment disputes throughout her career and also has experience in trusts, fraud and regulatory matters.

She moved to Guernsey in 2014, before which she practised out of a leading set of barristers' Chambers in London for over a decade, advising on all types of employment matters. She joins an employment practice described as 'a formidable negotiating team' in the most recent edition of the Legal 500 UK rankings and in which it secured top-tier status.

Elaine Gray, Partner and Head of Carey Olsen's dispute resolution and litigation team in Guernsey, said: "Natasha has a tremendous pedigree and reputation as an employment law specialist and we are delighted to have her as part of the team at Carey Olsen. The appointment also reflects the continued increase in employment-related instructions we are experiencing as a firm and where we feel Natasha's wealth of expertise and knowledge will be of great value to our clients."

Ms Newell is STEP qualified, a member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists and the Chancery Bar Association.

She is also the Guernsey case summaries editor of the Jersey and Guernsey Law Review and chair of the Guernsey Housing Appeals Tribunal.
