New Card Factory open in Guernsey

Thursday 02 May 2019

A Card Factory shop has opened at the top of Le Pollet, St Peter Port.

The UK chain store is being operated as a franchise by SandpiperCI which said it has created five new jobs with the newly trained staff selling 'a wide range of cards, celebration gifts, wrapping paper, balloons, gift bags and boxes'.

Caroline Slowey-Dickinson, Sandpiper’s Brand Director said: “We have been looking forward to opening a Card Factory store in Guernsey for some time. We opened a similar store in Jersey’s King Street last November and as soon as the doors opened, consumers started flooding in to take advantage of the wide range of great value cards and products.

"Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Easter have all exceeded our sales expectations, we believe the St Peter Port store will have the same success.

“We’re also delighted with the help we’ve had from local contractors who worked alongside Card Factory shopfitters to create a superb Le Pollet store.”

The Card Factory Group operates more than 900 stores and has developed a vertically integrated business model with in-house design teams, in-house printing facilities and a central warehousing capacity of more than 360,000 sq. ft. This model differentiates the Group from its competitors by significantly reducing costs
and adding value to customers in terms of both price and quality. The majority of exclusive cards sell for less than a pound.

The new store opened on Wednesday morning and will be open six days a week from 09:00 until 17:30.
