Lloyds Bank Foundation for the Channel Islands has announced the appointment of Hana Plsek to its Board of Trustees.

She joins the board following the recent departure of Advocate Gavin Ferguson who reached the end of his six-year tenure in July 2023.

Ms Plsek is a Senior Associate at offshore law firm, Mourant, where she advises both global and local companies on contentious and non-contentious employment law. She also supports businesses to relocate and start up in Guernsey, helps individuals with immigration matters and employment permits as well as Guernsey policy residence certificates.

She brings a wealth of knowledge to the role outside of work too as an Institute of Directors Guernsey Committee Member, a Guernsey Women in Public Life Advisor, and non-Executive Board Member of Guernsey Employment Trust.

The Foundation supports charities helping to improve the lives of people who are disadvantaged, disabled, and excluded to play a fuller role in their communities. It is supported by a voluntary Board of Trustees, all of whom use their experience, expertise, and passion to make change in their communities.

Ms Plsek said she was “excited and honoured” to join the board. “I look forward to utilising my skills and expertise to help the Foundation navigate upcoming challenges and opportunities. I look forward to being able to support the vital work of charities in helping to improve lives and strengthen communities."

Philippa Stahelin, the Chair of the Foundation said: “Hana’s calibre of expertise along with her strong commitment to charitable causes and the community is what we look for when recruiting to the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.

“With the continued challenges facing the charitable sector, having people on board who not only share our values but bring knowledge and insights on key social issues to the Foundation is integral.

Over the past 37 years, the Foundation has awarded more than £21m to Channel Island Charities.
