Mourant is Citywealth Law Firm of the Year

Monday 03 February 2020

Mourant in Guernsey has been named 'Law Firm of the Year' at the Citywealth International Financial Centre Awards, which aim to highlight excellence in the private wealth sector in the major international financial centres.

The winners are those judged to have "excelled in achievement, innovation, expertise and service".

Mourant Guernsey office Managing Partner, Matthew Guthrie, said: "Our vision is to be consistently recognised as the best offshore law firm and winning awards such as this is testament to where we stand in the market.

"It reflects our position as a pre-eminent offshore law firm in Europe, the quality of our client base and our dedication to delivering outstanding client service. It's an exciting moment as we look ahead to another busy year in 2020, and I'd like to thank everyone involved for their continuing hard work and efforts."

The Citywealth International Financial Centre Awards, now in their ninth year, are judged by an international panel of practitioners from all private wealth sectors.

The award win follows hot on the heels of the Guernsey team's performance in both Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners, where it maintained all its top tier rankings and was praised by clients as "a leader in the offshore market", a position which "is substantiated time and time again due to the quality of service." Another source stated that "due to their concise and commercial advice, they are my first port of call in any complex matters."
