The site of a former popular cafe in St Martin could be reopened as a florist if planning permission is given.
Making the corner of Rue Maze and La Grande Rue, the site of the former La Croix Guerin, latterly known as The Furze Oven, was a busy cafe for many years until its closure. It has been empty since then.
Now, a Mr and Mr Gothard have applied for a change of use from Class 11 (cafe) to Retail Use Class 9: convenience retail, which would mean it can be reopened as a florist.
If planning permission is given, it would mean a new business would then be able to open in St Martin's village, which already has clothes shops, a pharmacy, jewellers, bank, petrol stations and supermarkets.
