Digital entrepreneur joins Ravenscroft board

Thursday 18 October 2018

The newly appointed non-executive director of Ravenscroft Holdings Limited hopes to use his experience in information technology to benefit the group as it continues its plans for growth.

Chris Barling has joined the board of Ravenscroft Holdings Limited and brings with him 10 years public board level experience, including eight years with FTSE 100 constituent Hargreaves Lansdown.

He specialises in product development and the impact digital has on business, in particular financial services.

Mr Barling said the financial services industry was becoming increasingly digitalised and he was excited to be joining the board. "To me, Ravenscroft combines the solid fundamentals needed by all investment companies with the open mind and innovative flair that characterises young companies," he said.

"After many years on the board of investment behemoth Hargreaves Lansdown, I am very much looking forward to working with the team at Ravenscroft. My speciality is IT so I should be contributing to Ravenscroft's developments in this area."

In the last 12 months, Ravenscroft has made two acquisitions and announced a 55% increase in assets under administration to £4.44 billion. In February, it was appointed as investment manager to the Guernsey Investment Fund.

Chairman Stephen Lansdown said the company had ambitious growth plans and needed a strong board.

"I am delighted that Chris is joining the board. I’ve known him for a long time and had the pleasure of working alongside him at Hargreaves Lansdown. His experience and knowledge is vast and he will be a great asset to the business going forward."
