The Channel Islands group of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) has announced details of its flagship event which will explore 'The Future of PR in a Changing World'.
The half-day forum will take place on Wednesday 4 October in both Guernsey and Jersey.
The themes tackled will include how technology and AI will impact the PR sector in the future, the role of equality and diversity in building a sustainable and fit-for-purpose industry, and the enduring value of public relations and reputation management in the changing technological landscape with speakers to include Anne Gregory PhD; Professor Emeritus of Corporate Communication at the University of Huddersfield, and CIPR Board member, Oliver Fairhurst; Partner at Lewis Silkin who specialises in intellectual property and reputation management, and Vic Tanner Davy; Honorary CEO of Liberate.
CIPR President Steve Shepperson-Smith will join the session to talk about the enduring aspects of our industry that will retain their value regardless of technological changes to how we work.
“The forum is a fantastic opportunity for local communications, PR and marketing professionals to hear from some leading industry experts on some of the most pressing topics that we are facing,” said Nichole Culverwell, Chair of the CIPR in the Channel Islands.
“We will be able to reflect on how the CIPR has supported the industry over the last 15 years in the Channel Islands and look ahead to what the future holds. We know that how people communicate will change over the next decade, and that the skills needed in our industry will also change dramatically; we need to address these developments now to meet the evolving needs of our clients and their stakeholders.
“Topics such as artificial intelligence, diversity and social equality and the future of the media will give us much to discuss, and this is a unique opportunity to learn from some of the people at the leading edge of the PR industry.”
