Some passengers booked to travel with Flybe might be covered by travel insurance, but that is not going to be the case for everyone.
The situation is still developing after the regional airline landed in administration over night.
Planes were being blocked in on the tarmac at runways across the UK, and others met as they landed for the airline's final flights.
In the immediate aftermath, Aurigny and Flybe both rallied round to offer reassurance and 'rescue fares' to worried passengers.
The States has said it is "aware that Flybe has entered administration. Our concern is for those employed by the airline".
The only advice given by the island's government at the moment is around insurance, and more information is likely to be issued later today.
"If your flight is part of a package holiday it may be covered by ATOL – please check with your operator," the States said. "If you have taken out travel insurance, check with your insurance provider to see if your flight is covered. If you paid for your flight on a credit card it may be insured, please check with your credit card company.
"The States of Guernsey is discussing this development with other key stakeholders and we will provide a further update today."
