GFC defeated at home by Farnham Town

It was a loss for Guernsey when they welcomed big-spending Farnham Town to Footes Lane on Saturday - with the visitors extending their unbeaten run to 56 league games.

While Guernsey FC were a safe bet to lose this game, they "were brave and went toe-to-toe with a juggernaut that had was full of players that should be playing at a much higher level" said the match report.

Despite scoring three goals - from Jacques Cauvin, Ben Acey, and Charlton Gauvain - it wasn't enough to secure victory as the visitors scored six.

GFC were missing some of their biggest names with Jamie Dodd, Kieran Mahon and Matt Loaring unavailable leaving a young and hungry side to entertain the Footes Lane faithful.

Ross Allen, Dave Merris and Sam Murray were all withdrawn in the second half to protect them for Wednesday, when the Green Lions host Binfield.

Guernsey remain in the Isthmian South Central relegation zone going into that game.
