WATCH: “That was scrappy, but they all count” - Adams scores first goal for Morecambe

Joe Adams began the fightback for Morecambe against Crewe with his first goal for the club.

He joined the League Two side on a season-long loan from Wigan in January.

Adams has been a regular since then and played a big part in Morecambe's recovery from two down to win 3-2 on the road.

The Shrimps were trailing 2-0 after a first half goal from Elliott Nevitt and another by Shilow Tracey early in the second half.

Adams then marked his ninth appearance with a goal on 69 minutes.

Jordan Slew equalised before a Mickey Demetriou's own goal on 83 settled the tie.

"We went behind and had to fight our way back into it. The boys in there said don't panic at half time. We came out all right and then conceded again to go two-nil down and thankfully I scored my first goal. That was a scrappy one, but they all count don't they?"

Adams had a big hand in the second goal too, forcing a good save from the goalkeeper before Slew pounced on the ball.

Morecambe's spirit shone through as they completed the comeback and then blocked the ball on the line in the 96th minute to preserve their lead.

"I think this is more like the team than the last couple of games when maybe we haven't played as well or been as clinical with our chances."

Morecambe are in action again tomorrow night at home to Crawley Town.

In the Premier League, Alex Scott came on at half-time as his Bournemouth side beat Burnley.

He replaced Ryan Christie, who was struggling with illness.

"When we put Alex Scott on in the second half, I think we had more legs in the middle," boss Andoni Iraola told the Daily Echo.

"We could deal with everything much, much better."

The Cherries won the game 2-0 with goals from Justin Kluivert and Antoine Semenyo.
