WATCH HIGHLIGHTS: Guernsey FC hit three to win on the road

Monday 05 February 2024

Guernsey FC’s return to form has continued as they picked up a win against Ashford Town.

The sides have met four times before, but Saturday was the first time the Green Lions have come away with three points.

The 3-1 away win increased the points gap on the relegation zone and leaves the side within one win of 14th place with a game in hand.

Matt Loaring opened the scoring on five minutes, pouncing on a spilled cross.

The game was level on 26 minutes when Scott Day put the ball in the top corner and that’s how things stayed until the second half.

Day went from hero to villain when he pushed Charlton  Gauvain over in the box and Loaring put the spot kick away in the 52nd minute.

Less than 15 minutes later, it was 3-1 as Gauvain got on the scoresheet.
