Guernsey FC competed with promotion chasing Leatherhead, but were let down by individual errors at Footes Lane.
The visitors ran out 4-1 winners.
The opening goal on 25 minutes was gift-wrapped from the returning Josh Addison. He read a long ball well to collect it just inside the area, but let it squirm out his grasp and Trevan Robinson was able to stroke into an empty net from 18 yards.
It rocked the Green Lions as they presented Leatherhead with chances.
Their second came on 35 minutes when Ben Solway looked to shepherd the ball out for a goal kick but Ibrahim Olutade slipped round him, kept the ball in and pulled it back for Robinson to sweep home his second from six yards.
More chances went begging for the visitors before a spectacular goal from Brandon Wallace clawed the Green Lions back into the game.
His 30 yard lob sailed over the goalkeeper's fingertips.
GFC handed another present to Leatherhead on 60 minutes.
This time captain Jamie Dodd gave up possession to Robinson, who after exchanging passes struck the foot of the post and Daniel Hector turned in the rebound.
Omarr Lawson put the ball in the roof of the net with 78 minutes on the clock to seal the win.
Guernsey FC remain 14th in the Isthmian South Central.
They played at home to Hanworth Villa on Wednesday with a 19:45 kick-off.
