Guernsey FC downed by Leatherhead as search for first win goes on

Thursday 12 September 2024

Leatherhead fired three goals past Guernsey FC as they left the island with all three points in the bag.

It means the Green Lion’s search for a win goes on after a barren run which stretches back to March.

Leatherhead took the lead on the half-hour through Sebastian Karczewski's deflected effort, doubling their advantage 10 minutes later as Andre Date latched onto a loose ball in the area and fired home.

Substitute Kwesi Ntim added a third in the dying moments of the second half with a deft lob over Josh Addison that dropped into the far corner.

Guernsey are now one place above the relegation zone in the Isthmian South Central league with a solitary point.

They travel to play Hanworth Villa on Saturday.

Hanworth have won two and drawn one of their four games so far.

Other Isthmian South Central results: Badshot Lea 0-0 South Park (Reigate), Harrow Borough 2-0 Rayners Lane, Hayes & Yeading United 1-2 Hanworth Villa, Metropolitan Police 2-1 Southall, Raynes Park Vale 1-2 Sutton Common Rovers, Westfield 4-1 Horndean.
