Two new appointments to the Victoria Park steering committee come as Guernsey’s new home of football looks to maximise the opportunities for local players, spectators and the wider community.

The stadium is due to open in March 2025.

Nick Graham, the owner of OSA Recruitment, has been appointed as the independent Chair of its Steering Committee.

“To be involved in this project at this stage is, firstly, to recognise the sheer grit, determination, vision and work that has gone into Victoria Park for the past ten years,” he said.

“We are now at a pivotal point, counting down to when everyone in Guernsey will be able to witness the reality of what Victoria Park will deliver, and I’m flattered and honoured to be part of that process.”

He brings over 30 years of both football and commercial experience to the table and will lead the committee in its aim of delivering the ambitious project.

Catharine Haywood has joined as a committee member.

She is a PR and communications specialist with over two decades’ consumer and B2B experience and has worked on various global sports events, including the Commonwealth Games and London 2012.

“I am extremely proud to be involved in a project of this scale with sport at its heart. With two small boys who are fanatical about football, I know Victoria Park will bring so much to the community, and I’m looking forward to working with the team to bring its vision to life.”

Once Victoria Park opens, the committee will provide ongoing oversight and support to ensure the site’s long-term future and sustainability.

While securing sponsorship and partnership opportunities will be an immediate focus, fostering strong relationships within the local community and promoting Victoria Park as a means of creating positive sporting opportunities for all will also be key.

Gary Roberts, CEO of Guernsey FA, said: “Bringing someone of Nick’s calibre on board as Chair is a fantastic result, and both appointments mark an exciting stage in the project. We’ve been thrilled with how positively the stadium has been received by the local community and are committed to building on this buzz and delivering something truly special to Guernsey.

“Victoria Park is a stadium for all, and from engaging with players and fans to supporting local charities, Nick’s extensive industry experience in building positive relationships will prove invaluable as we look to realise our ambitious aims.”
