T20 Tournament: Guernsey off to a winning start

Thursday 22 August 2024

Guernsey got an opening win on the board against Bulgaria in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Europe Qualifier.

They did so in convincing style too, taking the victory by eight wickets at Port Soif.

The tournament will play out over the next week with the 10 teams split into two groups, the winners of each meeting in the final for the chance to progress to the next competition on the long road to the 2026 T20 World Cup.

Guernsey have pledged to put on a show for home fans, and they did just that.

Having lost the toss, the men in green bowled their opponents out for 97.

Martin-Dale Bradley, awarded player of the match, took three wickets.

It took fewer than 10 overs for Guernsey’s batsmen to knock off the target. Josh Butler was unbeaten on 41.

Guernsey play Malta today at 15:30 at the KGV.
