Sarnians ready to go on L’Etacq in Jersey rally

Friday 07 June 2024

Nine Guernsey teams and one “mixed island” crew will be taking on the Jersey Motorcycle & Light Car Club’s Mac Tools L’Etacq Stages tomorrow.

In total a bumper entry of 44 teams will be taking on the 12 stages, due to commence at 9am.

Six-time winners Ross Le Noa and Dominic Volante are the top seeds, with last year's runners-up Dave Oliveira and Victor Nobrega in second and the exciting Ford Anglia driven by Simon Le Noa and Katie Le Noa seeded third.

"I can't wait to start L'Etacq," said Ross Le Noa.

"The weather and stages look good. There'll be plenty of close competition from a large entry including many Guernsey visitors, which will be exciting."
Seeded in sixth, Guernseyman Dale Crowsley will hope to benefit from local knowledge with Jersey's Steve Gully alongside him.

The first seeded all-Guernsey crew feature a father-and-son tandem in the shape of Paul and Jamie Trebert at eight.

Multi-surface rally committee chairman Nathan Beddoe said: "As chairman, but also a competitor, I am delighted with the demand for this event.

"We are also very appreciative of the support of the authorities and residents, together with all our volunteers, for this thrilling motorsport event."

The Mac Tools L'Etacq Stages support the JMC&LCC environmental fund, with all competitors donating to the "Trees Fund", which will contribute to the tree regeneration programme in Jersey for future carbon offsetting.
