Dominant front running settled both the men’s and women’s races at the Bordeaux Cross Country.

Lee Merrien and Ulrike Maisch were unchallenged from the off, and while the men’s race saw some comfortable gaps in the leading positions, the women’s podium spots were a much tougher battle.

Amy Critchlow came through the field for second behind Maisch with Lindsay Sword third.

The Bordeaux course makes full use of the terrain, with some tough climbing and descending, twists and turns through the harder under foot upper "Forest" area, and some boggy challenges in the lower "Orchid" which sent a few people off balance.

U17 Jack Rees ran strongly for fourth, while the returning David Emery ticked off some metronomic pacing to come through for fifth ahead of Pete Amy, Matt Jamieson and Toby Mann.
