Guernsey FA Director of Football, Tony Vance welcomed Merris and Rihoy to the roles.
“As part of the Guernsey FA’s new approach to ensuring it has the right people in position to achieve its desired outcomes for Representative football, I am delighted to be welcoming Dave and Dave to this role with the Under 21 squad,” he said.
“Both have extensive experience in football and for Dave Merris, as the Senior Men’s Manager, this appointment provides that continuity between the Under 21 players and that senior squad. This will be important as we head through the season and towards the Muratti next May, and then the 2025 Island Games in Orkney.
“It is pleasing to see Dave Rihoy also step forward and take on this supporting role because he is an individual who has a natural understanding of the game.
“The insight and experience that he will be able to share with the Under 21 players will be of great value and I am looking forward to seeing how this new management team can take the squad forward.”
Guernsey FA Chief Executive, Gary Roberts added: “The new structure for Representative football that we have started to implement following the appointment of Tony as Director of Football, is now starting to take shape with the appointment of this new management team.
“It is pleasing to see two individuals in Dave and Dave, with so much football experience and knowledge, now supporting the next generation of Guernsey Representative players.”
Ahead of the match against Jersey on 10th November, the Guernsey Under 21 squad will first play against the Fleet Air Arm in the annual Malaya Cup match on 28 September at The Track, kick-off is 15:30.
