E&I will use its existing budget to put some new zebra crossings in place - to aid road safety under the proposed 'Better Transport Plan'.
They'll mainly be on or near Braye Road - which is currently served with just one zebra crossing, at its eastern end near the Vale Road Garage.
One of the zebra crossings will be installed at a development currently underway on Braye Road called Cleveleys.
The nearby Lowlands Road will also get a zebra crossing along with potentially other traffic calming measures. Lowlands Road is also proposed for a cycle contraflow and pavement link between Leale’s Yard and the proposed development in the Saltpans.
That development and others along Route Militaire could be linked to Braye Road through new segregated pedestrian and cycle infrastructure, that could offer a new route through the Cleveleys site, Braye Road Industrial Estate and a field to the south of Carriere Lane.
E&I has proposed new zebra crossings on Braye Road at the northern end of these pedestrian and cycle links.

The zebra crossings will enable more people to make the choice to safely walk in these areas says Environment and Infrastructure.
Vice President of E&I, Deputy Adrian Gabriel says the painted white crossings will be a cost effective way of improving road safety, while E&I President, Deputy Lindsay de Sausmarez says they will give people safe options for making short journeys, aside from driving.
"When we say transport it's so easy to think in terms of roads, and cars or trucks, big heavy things with wheels, and actually we need to think about it from the perspective of a person, including a very small person or a very old person," she said.
"We need to be able to think about transport from the perspective where you've got people at the centre because that's what it's all about, and giving them the options to travel anywhere within that area safely and conveniently, because we know that those are the barriers that people experience at the moment, and the lack of zebra crossings is a really good example of a very basic barrier that doesn't need to be there, and we can fix that cost effectively and that's what we're trying to do here."
