Firework displays and community bonfires could be under threat by oncoming terrible weather over the weekend.
There might be thunder and lightning today, with showers expected constantly, and chances of heavy rain at times.
The wind will also be very high, with occasional gale force eight, getting stronger into the evening. Sunday will be slightly better, with lighter winds and sunny periods interspersed with showers.
Because of this weather, St Martins AC are having to consider whether to push back their display on Sunday, as are other groups.
There are at least 10 private displays set to take place tonight across the island, according to gov.gg's firework display list.
Sunday will then have a number of displays as well, including the Rugby Club's Footes Lane event.
With the firework displays over the weekend, and those expected to take place through next week on Guy Fawkes Night, the GSPCA's Manager sent some advice out for people to keep in mind.
"With many firework displays confirmed already for next week and the week after we are reminding all pet and animal owners to do what they can to ensure they are safe, well and cared for," Steve Byrne said.
“The loud bangs and bright lights can often scare animals and we often see an increase in escaped animals during these periods.”
He also advised against people talking their dogs out for walks, and to keep doors and windows closed.
“Hopefully this firework period and those watching the fireworks can enjoy them and at the GSPCA we want to make sure all of our animals in Guernsey will be safe and well.”
