Guernsey is home to another cross-Channel swimmer now, after Katie Norris successfully completed the challenge yesterday.
Ms Norris swam from Dover to the French coast in 15 hours and six minutes, with a support crew tracking her journey.
Those on board the ship said she was feeding well during the swim and her spirits were high.
Katie has had some rest since her swim yesterday, and told Express she's "exhausted, physically and mentally, but proud too."
"I don’t think it has sunk in yet!"
Katie also thanked her support crew which included previous cross-Channel swimmers.
"I couldn’t have done it without my amazing crew - James Harrison and Mike Ward. The first 3/4 hours were very choppy and, as it was dark as well, I found this challenging. And at around 10/11 hours in I had to really push hard against the tide in order to make it round to get to the landing point."
Having spent many months training and preparing physically and mentally for her cross-Channel swim, Katie said she is now planning a rest.
"I don’t have any more challenges planned...yet!"
