'We Share the Same Moon'

Sunday 21 July 2019

The Guille-Allès Library is hosting a programme of free activities for children this summer, including an interactive session celebrating the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.

International storyteller Cassandra Wye will bring different folktales to life as she tells about the man who paddled to the moon and the animals that tried to reach it.

Ms Wye has been telling tales in libraries across the world since 1991. This year she is not only marking the anniversary of the lunar landing, but also incorporating the theme of the 2019 Summer Reading Challenge - 'Space Chase'.

"We are over the moon to welcome Cassandra to Guernsey and kickstart our summer programme of events for children at the library," said Children's Services Manager Cornelia James. "The children will be spellbound by her celestial stories."

'We Share the Same Moon' will take place at 11:00 on Tuesday 23 July at the library. It is free and is suitable for primary-aged children, but booking is required via library.gg/events.

Staff at the Children's Library can offer more information on this summer's activities and can be contacted on 743635.
