The owner of Guernsey's Aquarium released all her local fish back into the island's waters yesterday, as she closed the attraction's doors for good.
Marita Iverson has been forced to close the business because of a lack of customers.
She said it had been difficult to find any support to run something reliant on tourism and visitors. During the week after she announced its closure, Ms Iverson told Express she had seen a huge spike in visitors - saying the aquarium had been its busiest in a long time - but despite that last minute show of support from people, the business still had to close.
On Friday, Ms Iverson spent the day - along with some of her friends - draining the aquarium's tanks and releasing the fish from local waters back into the wild.

Bream, bass, conga eels and rays were just some of the species the aquarium had in its tanks that were put back into the sea. Lobsters and crabs were also released later in the day.

While Guernsey Aquarium's last day open was on Thursday, everything that's left in there is on sale. Ms Iverson is keeping her doors open for a few more days so people who are interested can go and buy what she has left, from remaining stock, to some of the more exotic animals, to the furniture and displays.
She has been involved in the aquarium for five and a half years, and said no one was going to miss it more than her.
