Warrant out for arrest of former Alderney ambulance driver

Friday 05 May 2023

A former ambulance driver in Alderney failed to turn up to court yesterday, after being charged with the importation of cocaine earlier this year.

Dawood Qaisar, 43, was charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act in March, once for the importation of cocaine and twice for testosterone.

He was then bailed until a hearing in Alderney yesterday. He had surrendered his driving licence to Alderney Law Enforcement and was required to report to Alderney Police once a week.

A plea has not yet been submitted. After failing to turn up to court yesterday – where it would’ve been decided whether to commit his case to Guernsey’s Royal Court – a warrant was immediately issued for his arrest.

He hasn’t been arrested yet and it’s not yet known if he remains in the island.
