Tuesday 14 September 2021

Two people have died with Covid-19 at the Mignot Memorial Hospital.

It comes after a cluster of cases was discovered at the island's hospital earlier this month, affecting both patients and staff.

In a Public Health statement last night, it was confirmed that two people with the virus had died at the weekend. There are five cases of Covid-19 in hospital post-second wave in Alderney.

Public Health said: "Our thoughts are with their family & friends at this difficult time."

There are currently 128 confirmed cases of Covid-19 across the Bailiwick. 19 of those confirmed cases are in Alderney.

18 people locally have died with Covid since the beginning of the pandemic.
