Guernsey Police are investigating break-ins at three businesses, within just over 24 hours of each other, which officers said are believed to be linked.
The Kiln restaurant at Oatlands was targeted in the early hours of Thursday 24 May, while the Cobo Tea Rooms and the Rockmount were targeted a day later.
The Kiln Restaurant at Oatlands (pictured above) was broken into at around 03:00 on Thursday 24 May. The investigating officers said "it’s thought that entry was gained via an unsecured window.
"The cash till was ripped out and £100 float was stolen."
Two other burglaries, which both occurred in the early hours of Friday 25 May happened in the Cobo area.
Guernsey Police said the Cobo Tea Rooms were targeted first, at around 03:30 when entry was made through an unsecured window and a can of Coke was stolen.
Around thirty minutes later, at around 04:00 on Friday 25 May, someone also broke into the Rockmount Pub. Guernsey Police said "the tills were damaged and eight charity boxes were stolen, together with tobacco and a quantity of cash."
Guernsey Police are treating all of these break-ins as linked and said if anyone was in either area and saw anything suspicious, they should call 725111 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
While Guernsey Police said the three incidents above are all being treated as linked, they are just the latest in a string of police appeals for information following spates of criminal damage and other alleged attempted break ins.
Most recently Guernsey Police appealed for information after damage was caused at two football clubs, both of which are near Oatlands, on Grand Fort Road.
Some time between 22:00 on Friday 18 May and 08:00 on Saturday 19 May damage was caused to Northerners Athletic Club, with the investigating officer, PC 50 Baxendale, telling Express that the lock on the front door of the club house was broken as well as damage caused to the frame of a window.
Between 13:15 on Saturday 19 May and 08:30 on Sunday 20 May, damage was also caused to a portacabin and snack van trailer within the Vale Recreation Grounds.
Other recent incidents have included spates of criminal damage in the north of the island as well as around Mont Arrive and the Odeon car park in St Peter Port.
Guernsey Police have reiterated previously issued advice to businesses and property owners to make sure all doors and windows are closed and locked when the premises are unoccupied.
Crime Reduction Advisor Andy Goodall can give advice and arrange a personal review of security for members of the public. He can be contacted on 725111.
Mr Goodall recently spoke to Express, along with a St Peter Port resident, following a spate of car damage in the area around the Odeon car park. You can revisit Mr Goodall's advice below:
