Tree planting today in St Peter's

Guernsey Trees for Life are asking volunteers to help them plant trees across St Pierre du Bois today.

The group will be meeting at the car park of La Houguette Primary School at 11.00 and would like to see as many volunteers there as possible.

Guernsey Trees For Life Committee Member Colin Dodd said:

"We have a mix of 150 bare root transplants from Guernsey Gardens. We will be meeting at 11.00 and would love to see as many volunteers to help us plant as possible. Not only does it make lighter work, but also gets the community involved in the important work that we do.”

Mr Dodd asked that volunteers bring along a spade/shovel and a pair of secateurs if they have them.

The charity’s tree planting schemes focus on planting native species to repopulate and enhance the biodiversity of selected areas in Guernsey.

Anyone who is interested in assisting with future planting, new scheme suggestions or donations, is welcome to come along and speak to committee members just before 11.00 at La Houguette School car park.
