Touring festival cancelled

Friday 23 February 2024

An Australian touring festival, which had Mura Masa on the line-up, has been canceled due to slow ticket sales.

The Guernsey-born, Grammy award winning musician, was scheduled to fly to Australia to perform on the 'Groovin' the Moo' stage after his current Americas tour closes next month.

Instead, the former Castel Primary and Grammar School pupil - whose real name is Alex Crossan - may have some free time on his hands.

Groovin' the Moo was due to kick off in April, with dates running through to May at locations including the Adelaide Showground, the Exhibition Park in Canberra, and the Sunshine Coast Stadium Precinct.

Mura Masa was one of the biggest names on the line up alongside Mel C of the Spice Girls. Both were due to perform DJ sets.

Only 27 years old now, Crossan is continuing to see huge successes in his field.

His third studio album, ‘Demon Time’, was released in September 2022, while his most recent single release was the double sided 'Rise'/'Gimme' which dropped in October last year.

He was nominated for two Grammys in 2017 for his debut album, and he won his first Grammy in 2019 for his remix of Haim's 'Walking Away'. More recently he has worked with Stormzy, Octavian, and ASAP Rocky.

Forbes put him on the list of the 'Top 30 Under 30' in Europe in Entertainment, when he reached more than a billion streams in the last decade.
