A GPS-guided robot will take over the job of marking lines on sports pitches, after States Works invested in the TinyLineMarker Pro X.
Historically, line marking would be undertaken manually with a line marking machine, but the robot has already proven to be more accurate than its human counterparts.
“This new piece of equipment will help us to undertake these tasks more efficiently and effectively,” said Land Management Manager, Richard Langmead.
“Our investment in the robot means we are now able to offer a wider range of pitch marking services to education sites, local sports clubs and other organisations, which we hope will be of interest to people.”
He said the team has only recently started using the robot, but they are already seeing excellent results.
“It means the team can carry out other jobs nearby while the robot does its work,” he said.
