Sustained growth expected across Guernsey's finance industry

Guernsey Finance is optimistic that there will be sustained growth across the industry this year after a “healthy” 2023.

It has confirmed the following new business in the last 12 months:

·     Two new investment managers.  

·     One new Guernsey life branch.  

·     One new trust company license. 

·     One new currency management banking license. 

·     One new custody platform. 

·     One new AI-focused fund structure to be managed in Guernsey. 

·     One new PCC structure. 

·     The appointment of a local agent to market alternative funds to Guernsey. 

·     In the funds sector, 80 new groups and sub-funds were launched in Guernsey this year, accounting for US$33.4bn

Guernsey Finance CEO Rupert Pleasant said: “Looking ahead, we are optimistic about sustained growth across industry; we have a strong business pipeline for 2024 across a multitude of sectors, reaffirming our confidence in Guernsey as a stable and secure jurisdiction for conducting business.” 

The promotional group will host its annual industry event on 24 January where it will provide more details about how 2023 went, share developments in chosen markets and discuss the outlook.

The event, which takes place from 07:30 to 10:00, is open to anyone working in the financial services industry. Registration details can be found here
