Work is being done in the Havelet area to maintain, preserve and improve coastal infrastructure - however disruption is expected at the bathing pools later this summer as a result.
The Energy and Coastal Infrastructure Team has commissioned repairs to the Havelet seawall, with work starting this week.
To try to mitigate the amount of disruption, the works throughout the area have been spilt into two sections that sit either side of the peak season; however, there will be some unavoidable disruption in the summer when maintenance work begins on the bathing pools.
The first section will be the northern end of the seawall, works will then cease over the summer season and resume in the autumn at the southern end. During the second section of works, the slipway and the adjacent parking will be obstructed.
Works are also planned to be undertaken on the Ladies’ and Children’s bathing pools from June to November.

The States of Guernsey agreed the series maintenance works at the bathing pools with Vive La Vallette, who continue to re-develop the changing facilities and kiosk.
The Coastal Infrastructure team said a contractor will be underpinning sections of the pools and restoring masonry.
“We appreciate the disruption maintenance works like these can cause at sites as popular as Havelet,” said Peter Barnes from the team. “However, it is important we undertake these proactive maintenance works to reduce the risk of significant damage."
“It is important to maintain these sea defences and repair the pools, in order to provide a safe and enjoyable experience around the island’s coastline.”
