Students await GCSE results

Thursday 22 August 2019

Teenagers across the island's public and private schools are set to receive their GCSE results this morning.

A new grading system was introduced in 2017, using the numbers 9-1, with 9 being the highest grade available. A further 20 subjects used the new grading system last year, with most others being brought into line this year.

2018 was another positive year for local schools, with 97.8% of students at the Grammar School achieved a minimum of five GCSEs at grades A*-C (or 9-4) including English and Maths. The other state secondary schools achieved pass rates of 58% (La Mare de Carteret), 53% (Les Beaucamps) and 47% (St Sampson's).

A Level students received their results last Thursday.
