They are a common sight at the Tour de France, as the world's best cyclists compete.

Now, painted bikes have been placed on the roads of St Peters, which will host the cycling road races and triathlon during the Natwest International Island Games.

There's less than a month to go until the Games and the parish’s floral group and douzaine members created the displays as it gears up to host closed-road racing for the first time.

Households and businesses around the island have been encouraged to decorate their premises to help celebrate the Games.

Guernsey 2023 begins on 8 July with an opening parade of 2,194 athletes in St Peter Port before sporting action gets under way the next day and continues through until 14 July.

The Town seafront will be shut from 4PM on the day of the parade, with entertainment from 5PM.

Competitors for 24 islands will take part in 14 sports across the week, with 205 events, all of which are free to watch.
