With nine candidates vying for five seats in the States of Alderney, a speed hustings has been arranged for this evening so voters can get to know them.
It's the first time such an event has been held, with the organisers describing it as "a novel approach, replicating the tried and tested 'speed dating' format".
Rather than hoping to win a suitors hand, the candidates will be hoping to win votes at the election this coming Saturday.
Prospective voters will be able to ask each candidates questions during the speed-hustings, at the Island Hall.
Voters will then be able to cast their ballots, also at the Island Hall, this Saturday, to elect five members to the ten-strong States of Alderney.

For tonight's 'speed-hustings', nine tables will be set up, with five seats for members of the public to use - with more provided if needed at each table. There will also be one seat at each table for one candidate.
The candidates will each get ten minutes per table to answer questions.
"We hope that this approach will give members of the community the opportunity to get a real sense of what each candidate offers," said a spokesperson for the States of Alderney.
Voters should be there before 19:00 to get a seat at a table.
At this Saturday's election, those eligible to vote will each have up to five votes but are reminded they don’t have to use all of them – they should only vote for those they want to represent them, said the spokesperson.
